About Singapore

Singapore is small, clean and simple to get around, which makes it one of the easiest first trips abroad for a family. Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer are all within walking distance of each other, and the light show at night is free. Everything runs on time and nothing is far.

Sentosa island holds Universal Studios, S.E.A. Aquarium and the beaches. Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam each have their own food streets, and Indian vegetarian food is easy to find across the city. Four to five nights covers the city and Sentosa comfortably, and many travellers add a couple of nights in Malaysia on the same trip.

We plan the trip around your dates and your group size. Tell us when you want to travel and our team sends you a plan and a quotation. Nothing is booked until you approve it.

Best places to see

  • Marina Bay Sands SkyParkThe observation deck on top of the three towers, with the whole bay below. Go about an hour before sunset and stay for the lights.
  • Gardens by the BayThe Supertree Grove plus the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest conservatories. The free Garden Rhapsody light and sound show runs twice each evening.
  • Sentosa IslandReached by cable car, monorail or the boardwalk. Universal Studios, Skyline Luge, the beaches and the Wings of Time show are all here.
  • S.E.A. AquariumOne of the largest aquariums in the world, with an open ocean tank you can sit in front of. A good indoor plan on a wet afternoon.
  • Singapore Zoo and Night SafariOpen enclosure zoo by day and a tram ride through nocturnal animals after dark. Breakfast with orangutans needs booking ahead.
  • Little India and Mustafa CentreTemples, sari shops, Tekka market and a large round the clock department store. The easiest area for a full Indian meal.
  • Chinatown and Kampong GlamChinatown for temples, street food and souvenirs, Kampong Glam for the Sultan Mosque, Haji Lane murals and small cafes.
  • Jewel Changi AirportThe indoor waterfall and garden inside the airport itself, with a canopy park upstairs. Easy to see on arrival or before departure.

Good to know

  • Indians need a visa for Singapore before travel. It is applied for electronically through an authorised agent and our team handles the paperwork. Every arriving traveller also fills the SG Arrival Card online in the three days before entry.
  • The currency is the Singapore dollar. Cards and contactless payments work almost everywhere, including on buses and the MRT.
  • Tourist SIMs and eSIMs are sold at the airport, and free public wifi is widely available.
  • The MRT is the fastest way across the city. A contactless bank card or a stored value card works on every line and bus.
  • Dress is casual, but cover shoulders and knees for temples and mosques. Indoors is heavily air conditioned, so carry a light layer.
  • Fines are real and enforced. No eating or drinking on the MRT, no littering and no smoking outside marked areas. Chewing gum is not sold.
  • Vegetarian, Jain and halal food are all easy, with the widest choice in Little India and in the hawker centres.
