About Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur is the usual base. The Petronas Twin Towers, the KL Tower and the Batu Caves temple are the fixed points, and the city is full of good food from every community living there. Getting around is simple, the trains are cheap and Tamil and Hindi are widely understood, which makes the city easy for Indian families.
From KL you can add Genting Highlands for the cable car and the cooler air, Cameron Highlands for the tea estates, and the beaches of Langkawi and Penang. Penang also has Georgetown, with its street art and old shophouses. Most trips combine the city with either one highland stop or one island, and ten days lets you do both.
We plan the trip around your dates and your group size. Tell us when you want to travel and our team sends you a plan and a quotation. Nothing is booked until you approve it.
Best places to see
- Petronas Twin TowersThe twin towers with a skybridge and observation deck. Book a slot in advance, and come back after dark for the lit up view from KLCC park.
- Batu CavesA limestone cave temple to Lord Murugan at the top of a long painted staircase, with a tall golden statue at the base. Go early, before the heat and the crowds.
- Genting HighlandsA hill resort about an hour from KL, reached by the Awana SkyWay cable car, with a theme park, casino and cool weather all year.
- Cameron HighlandsTea estates, strawberry farms and a mossy forest walk at a comfortable altitude. Plan an overnight stay rather than a day trip.
- LangkawiAn island with beaches, the Sky Bridge and cable car at Mount Mat Cincang, mangrove boat tours and duty free shopping.
- Georgetown, PenangA heritage old town of shophouses, clan jetties, street murals and some of the best hawker food in the region. One full day on foot.
- PutrajayaThe administrative city south of KL, with the pink Putra Mosque and lakeside bridges. Usually added on the way to or from the airport.
- MelakaA Dutch and Portuguese colonial town with Jonker Street, a river cruise and old churches, about two hours from KL.

Good to know
- Indians currently enter Malaysia visa free for short tourist stays under the scheme in force through 2026. Every arriving traveller must still fill the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card online within three days of travel, and our team sends you the link.
- The currency is the Malaysian ringgit. Cards work in cities and malls, but hawker stalls and small towns are cash only.
- Prepaid SIM cards with data are sold at the airport and at any mall, and coverage is good except deep in the highlands.
- Dress is casual. Cover shoulders and knees for mosques and temples, and scarves are provided at mosque entrances.
- Vegetarian food is easy, with Indian restaurants in Brickfields in KL and across Georgetown. Look for the halal or vegetarian sign if you are particular.
- Trains and the airport link in KL are cheap and reliable, and ride hailing apps are widely used for short hops.
- Do not carry anything you have not packed yourself. Drug laws here are extremely strict.
